News

With this page I would like to inform you about news in rleibd so you can decide if an update is useful for you. May be the rleibd-tarball is newer than this page because I do not want do spam this page with minor updates and bugfixes. Important issues normally will be listed here.

2011-01-01 New compilers - new errors...

Later versions of G++ and the C++-library allow for a more strict error-checking to prevent oversights or simply ease of programming. The code is expected to become more reliable though. A series of small corrections have been made to rleibd to compile it under Ubuntu 10.04. Of course, it still works with older Suse-Versions.
Only the BCU1-Kerneldriver seems to dislike kernel 2.6.32.
... so what did you do on New-Year's Day? :-)
Happy New Year for everyone!

2010-10-08 insertable triggers

It is now possible to insert triggers into the running system and delete them again. See "controlling" for more info.

2010-09-11 new parameter "overshoot"

I have been away from Eib for a long time working on another fascinating project. More about it soon on my homepage

A new parameter "overshoot" allows reliably moving a shutter to terminal positions even with (slightly) erroneous values of "stroketime" by extending the moving time when approaching terminal positions. Further information see "configuration".

2009-03-17 rleibd and Ubuntu

Something must have changed inside the MXML-library regarding the tree-parameter of mxmlWalkNext(). This caused rleibd to terminate with a segmentation fault while reading the configuration file. The recent version now also runs on newer distributions like Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.

2009-03-09

After a long time of leasure a first step to named triggers is made. You can now retrieve the actual configuration of rleibd and thus the presence of triggers as an xml-file. In the latest release there is also included an ajax-script to display a list of triggers based on this data.

2008-10-4

A buffer overflow vulnerability due to a missing length check when executing scripts is now corrected.
